August 3rd Clary Lake Association Annual Meeting taking shape

talking-heads-customPlans are well underway for the Association’s Annual meeting to be held Saturday August 3rd at 2 PM at the home of Robert Antognoni. Robert lives on the south side of Clary Lake at the end of Robert E. Dow Road in Jefferson. For those of you who don’t know where it is, here’s a Google Map showing the location. For those of you who are Google Map challenged, Robert E. Dow Road is located off Route 126 0.16 miles east from the Jefferson town line, 0.92 miles west from the intersection of Route 215 and 126 at the head of Clary Lake, and 1.83 miles east on Route 126 from the Whitefield Superette in North Whitefield Village. If you still manage to get lost, call Robert Antognoni at 549-7694 and we’ll guide you in for a smooth landing.

The rain date, on the off chance it is raining on Saturday, is the same time, same place, next day. I can’t remember the last time the Annual meeting was rained out. I don’t know if it’s ever happened.

Parking space by the house is limited but there is plenty of parking along side the driveway leading to the house, and in the field. Be careful because there is poison ivy lurking in the bushes though if you stay on the mowed grass and don’t wander off into the pucker brush you’ll be fine. By all means, if you’re handicapped or elderly, drive right on down to the house and park- you’ve earned the right.  You’re also welcome to arrive by boat, canoe, or kayak. Bob has a nice beach to pull up on.

The business meeting proper typically lasts an hour and a half or so. There is an awful lot to discuss this year so I don’t expect it to be a short meeting; I’m planning on a couple of hours. As usual, after the meeting there will be a pot luck supper so bring your favorite casserole, salad, snack, dip, pastry, pie, pasta, bread, meatballs, baked beans, desert, etc. It’s also OK to not bring something. You can still eat. We’ll try to have enough chairs and tables available, but if you have a folding chair you might consider bringing it.

The Membership year runs from Annual meeting to Annual meeting and most people pay their $25 dues at the meeting so in addition to your favorite dish, if you haven’t already paid your dues, bring your check book!

I’ll be posting a meeting agenda early next week,  both here and over on the Meetings and Minutes page. We’ll also be sending around a reminder email within the next few days, and postcards to those people for whom we don’t have email addresses. We’re hoping for a record turnout. All are welcome.
