How You Can Help

The Clary Lake Association is a 501 c(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to preserving, protecting, and enhancing the natural beauty, and quality of Clary Lake and its watershed. These objectives are accomplished through a variety of activities which include education programs, water quality monitoring, pollution abatement, and protection of wildlife. We are a member of The Maine Lakes Society and the Maine Volunteer Lake Monitor Program. The Association was formed in July, 1960 and has been active ever since. There are many ways you can help the Clary Lake Association realize its goals. Here are a few suggestions.

Become a Member. We are a Membership Organization hence our influence in the world around us depends on how many members we have. It’s really that simple! Membership is open to anyone who supports the goals and purpose of the Association. Without members, we are just a name. With a sufficiently large and engaged membership however, we become a formidable proponent for our cause. Becoming a member accomplishes 2 things: first, your dues help cover our operational expenses, keeping us fiscally solvent. Second, your name on our membership roster lends credibility to our organization. The more members we have, the louder our collective voice. Read more about the Benefits of Membership and how to become a member.

Donate to the Association. While membership dues for the most part cover our regular operating expenses, we often find ourselves looking for additional funds to cover the cost of special programs, equipment, and new initiatives. Whether you are a member or not, you can make tax deductible donations to the Clary Lake Association and rest assured that your money is going to a good and just cause.

Join a Committee. Get Involved! Perhaps the most important thing you can do to help the Association achieve its goals is to donate a most valuable commodity: your time! We are a volunteer organization and rely on individuals to contribute their time and energy to getting the job done and without people willing to help, nothing would get done. So consider joining a committee!

Outreach. Spread the word.
